More information:

Stud poker is a game which consists of several variants of Poker in which each player receives hole and pocket cards. The order of betting rounds can change according to the values of the face up cards. In each round, the player who has cards forming the best or the worst hand according to the variant played starts betting. The most popular variants of Stud poker are five cards or seven cards. In five-card Stud, or Kid of Cincinnati all players receive a face down card and 4 face up. They need to bet before the distribution of cards. These bets form the initial pot. Then the dealer distributes a face down card to each then a face up card. The player who has the worst face up card starts the betting round. The others play after him. In seven-card Stud, all players receive three cards face down and four face up. A round starts with an ante. Then the dealer distributes two cards face down and one face up. The player who has the worst face up card pays the bring-in bet first. The dealer distributes a second and third then fourth face up card to players, each being followed by a betting round. Finally, each player receives a face down card and finally the last betting round takes place. The winner is the player who forms the best hand of five cards with the seven that he has. Seven Stud can be played in Hi-low or low ace to five. The first is Eight or better where the pot is halved between the player who has the highest hand and who has the lowest. The second is Razz or Nullot where the player with the lowest hand wins the pot.
