Craps Rules

Craps is a really popular game in the United States. Some people think it is rather difficult but it is actually easy to play. On the other hand, it has a large range of bets can be intimidating in the beginning. Thus it is advisable to learn a few rules.

The Basics

The aim of craps is to bet on the result of several thrown dice. Two ways of reading them maybe used. Most of the time, you must add the numbers of the two dices but combinations are also possible like a pair of 1 and 6 which we call craps or a double 2,3,4 or 5 called hard ways.

The player who draws the dice is called the thrower, of course you may bet when you are the thrower but you may also be able to do it when somebody else is responsible for this role. In this case place your chips on the betting box of your choice, on the game table before the dices are thrown.

A couple of bets may be placed at any moment, some bets are only allowed at the beginning or in the middle of the game. The latter takes place in two stages, the first roll of the dice is known as the come out roll, it allows to set the point. During the second phase, the thrower continues to throw the dice until he gets a point or 7.

A casino crew consists of boxman, two dealers and a stickman who proposes to the throwers six different dices is usually around the craps table. The player has to pick two, red or green.
